APWA Chapter Conferences 2027 Attendee Guide
RTA Fleet is attending these American Public Works Association (APWA) chapter conferences in 2027: Washington in Tacoma (April 28–29), Mid-Atlantic WRX in Virginia Beach (May 5–7), and Texas in Denton (June 7–9).
About the events
APWA chapter conferences are regional events run by local chapters of the American Public Works Association. Each one brings public works directors, engineers, fleet and maintenance managers, and the consultants and vendors who support them together for education sessions, an exhibit hall, and networking.
The Washington Chapter, the second largest APWA chapter in the country, holds a spring conference in Western Washington and a fall conference in Eastern Washington. The Mid-Atlantic Chapter, which serves public works professionals in Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, and Washington, DC, holds its annual WRX conference each May with sessions, an exhibit hall, equipment demos, a ROADEO, and socials. The Texas Chapter's annual conference covers topics ranging from fleet and equipment management to water resources, transportation, and solid waste.

Who should attend
Both chapters welcome anyone who works in or alongside public works. Here's where each role gets the most out of the trip.
Use the education sessions and exhibit hall to compare how other agencies in your state or region handle budgets, staffing, and asset management.
Sessions cover the projects and programs engineering teams run every day, and both chapters recognize standout local projects through their awards programs.
Spend Expo Hall time with fleet software, equipment, and upfit vendors, and compare notes with other public fleets on maintenance, replacement planning, and costs.
Mid-Atlantic WRX runs a ROADEO and equipment demonstrations, and Washington's conferences have featured an operations and maintenance education track.
Meet the contractors, consultants, and equipment suppliers who support road, signal, and transportation work in your region.
Washington's attendee list includes drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater teams, making it an easy place to connect with peers and suppliers in one trip.
