RTA Kicks off Annual Users’ Conference in Orlando

ORLANDO, March 13, 2019 – RTA Fleet Management Software officially kicked off its annual users’ conference, RTA Connect, in Orlando on Wednesday. The event will follow the theme of “Making a Positive Impact” as RTA strives to empower fleet managers to save time, decrease costs and make roadways safer.

Guests from 33 states, Canada and Guam make up the attendees at the conference. The event will mark RTA’s 40th anniversary.

The conference began with a keynote speech by RTA CEO Josh Turley and CTO Doug Perkes. Turley welcomed attendees and discussed how RTA can help its clients make a positive impact in their own lives.

“We at RTA make a positive impact through great customer service and great technology,” Turley said. “We’re here to help strengthen your ability to make a positive impact in your communities and in your workplaces.”

Turley also highlighted the new Paperless Shop features coming soon to RTA Mobile. The first iteration due out this spring will include time tracking.

“We want to make sure our mechanics have the right tool at the right time,” Turley said.

Perkes outlined RTA’s technology roadmap. He recapped major strides the company took in 2018, including enhanced Software as a Service offerings, launching the mobile app RTA Mobile, and creating a web application to allow clients to easily manage user access. Perkes also showcased the next phase of the roadmap, which includes Driver Reports, Work Orders and Core Reports.

“RTA is thrilled that we are now able to bring together the best of desktop, web and mobile technologies to help our customers,” Perkes said. “The new and upcoming changes give fleet managers greater control of the fleet and greater access to decision-making capabilities, mechanics new tools to streamline efficiency, and parts managers greater mastery over inventory.”

The users’ conference features three guest keynote speakers who will share how attendees can make a positive impact through leadership and teamwork. Jeff Barnes, who is known as “Dr. Disney,” will focus on teaching leadership lessons through the accomplishments of Walt Disney. Randy Fox, an NCAA basketball referee, will help attendees learn new leadership and teamwork skills. Fleet-industry expert and Government Fleet Hall of Fame member Steve Saltzgiver will share his vast experiences in fleet operations.

While RTA Connect officially kicked off Wednesday, guests attended all-day training sessions Monday and Tuesday to help enhance their knowledge of RTA. Throughout the week, additional classes will be offered to teach attendees best practices for using fleet management software, reporting tools, and tips on parts management and overall leadership skills. In all, 46 classes are offered to attendees. Guests will also have opportunities throughout the event to network and share ideas with their peers.

RTA was founded in 1979 by Ron Turley and is headquartered in Glendale, Ariz.
