RTA Announces Release of eDVIR App, Xerifleet

GLENDALE, Ariz., July 30, 2020 – RTA Fleet Management Software is excited to announce the release of its Electronic Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (eDVIR) application, Xerifleet. This new fleet management tool allows operations to quickly and simply perform vehicle inspections  on their mobile device.

“In 2019, we spent a lot of time working with clients and their eDVIR vendors to integrate with several solutions. There were two common themes we heard from our customers as we wrote these integrations,” Josh Turley, CEO at RTA Fleet Management Software, said.

“First, that while we as vendors hit a lot of singles and doubles, we all seemed to leave runners stranded on base, and did not bring the integrations full circle. There was a lot of double entry that still had to happen, particularly when it came to set up on both sides. Second, our customers loved the service they received from RTA, and wished they could just deal with us, rather than having to go find other vendors. We appreciated the sentiment. We also saw how complex some of these other systems were to set up and knew there was a better way to serve our clients.”

“We then had to make a decision: do we build it off our existing platform, which ties us down to the rules and 40 years of decision-making behind it, or try to build a solution from the ground up with today’s technology? We opted for the latter, and within 6 months have created a truly robust, high performing, and -- most importantly -- super simple eDVIR solution. We wanted it to be so intuitive that it did not require any formal training course, like our main product does.”

“Paper forms are the biggest competitor in this space, so whatever we designed had to be simpler than that while providing additional value. In fact, that motivation was what inspired us to name this new branch Xerifleet, after the simplicity and low effort involved in xeriscaping, a common landscaping technique here in the dry climate of Arizona. I’m extremely proud of our team, and thankful to the clients who helped make sure Xerifleet lived up to that!”

Xerifleet makes it easy  to keep fleet operations compliant with Department of Transportation mandates by allowing operations to easily perform  required driver inspections on their fleet vehicles. The app lets drivers quickly complete the inspection and alert technicians about  needed repairs. This helps operations improve their maintenance process and streamline communication.

Xerifleet connects with the RTA platform more closely than any other eDVIR tool on the market. It allows drivers to seamlessly inspect vehicles in the system and have any issues automatically transfer into RTA’s fleet management software solution.  It also lets fleets add vehicles to Xerifleet and keep them in sync with information in RTA. This saves shops time and ensures all of an operation’s vital vehicle information is stored in one place.

“This is just the first step in building out a new cutting edge platform that not only extends the abilities of our customers, but is driven with a simplicity-first mindset infused with the heart and service that’s made RTA what it is today,” Turley said. “There are still several features we are planning for eDVIR within Xerifleet, but our vision for Xerifleet as a platform is much larger and will serve as a great foundation for years to come.”
